Proving tough can be beautiful – AkzoNobel’s Special Effects Collection

AkzoNobel has responded to customer demands for eye-catching industrial finishes with the launch of their Special Effects Collection. The new range combines the resilience of their Interpon powder coatings with a designer palette of 48 on-trend colors and textures. Now, specifiers, designers, trade coaters and manufacturers are able to add that much-desired sense of chic to the coating of industrial components.

The contemporary collection has a wide array of popular effects to choose from, including fine and coarse textures, matt, gloss and metallics. In addition, there are satin effect products, which give the sheen without the shine. Colors range from a selection of subtle shades, for a minimal look, to rich tones inspired by the elements, for a dramatic effect.

“We invest heavily in trend research,” explains Daniela Vlad, Managing Director of AkzoNobel’s Powder Coatings business. “As a result, we are experts in identifying global trends and creating exciting colors and finishes with the power to help transform living spaces and working environments”. Vlad continues, “Special Effects includes our interior color of the year, Silver Star. It’s a great example of how our color experts work together across our paints and coatings businesses to create exciting palettes and fit-for-purpose solutions that meet the performance, technical and aesthetic demands of our customers.”

“Products that were once viewed as merely functional are now evolving into designer items,” adds Aurelie Godan, EU Regional Marketing Manager for powder coatings. “Take traditional ‘white goods’, for example, the end consumer wants more choice than currently offered. They want appliances that will match their décor or even feature as statement pieces themselves. Retail shelving is another example; an attractive, eye-catching display can entice customers to buy,” Godan continues. “Our Special Effects Collection can deliver that super stylish finish.”

Metal furniture, lighting and fixtures are among interior assets that will benefit from the collection’s ability to convert the ordinary into the extraordinary.  Whilst products exposed to outdoor weather, including garden furniture, outdoor lighting, playground equipment and agricultural machinery, will retain their good looks come rain or shine.

Customers have the added reassurance associated with powder coatings; no VOCs, reduced waste, high durability and guaranteed performance.

The Special Effects Collection is now available from our Ready to Ship (RTS) stock range throughout Europe.
